Smiler/ Cheerful one. The word comes from Arabic. It is actually used as a first name in the Arab world and may be in Turkey too

It can be used as a name (I haven't seen but if ''this guy''s name is basım, I can say anything) but actually it means 'printing' in Turkish..For example you wrote a book and u give it for printing, or a newspaper..or if it is written like 'başım', it means 'my head' in Turkish.
