Forgiveness is divine in nature, because it allows one to let go of all the painful emotions, hurt, sorrow, anger and hatred from an action and allow love, peace and compassion to return.

It is within us all to have a divine spiritual nature, to forgive and love others without condition.

I think that saying was from Shakespeare right?

But I do agree. People are human and we all make mistakes from time to time. But forgiveness is a God-like concept. Forgiving means to be willing to no longer punish someone for their previous errors. Some mistakes are easy to forgive, while others are virtually impossible to forgive.

Case in point, forgiving a person who molests a child is something I would have a hard time doing. But if a person is truly repentant (not just a flippant "I'm sorry" but really wants to turn away from the sin) God will forgive anything - that's why God's the "God of 2nd chances."

So ultimately God has the biggest track record or forgiveness which is why forgiving is divine. As Christians, we try to follow this concept - forgiving and forgetting the sins, but I think that one issue that separates God from the rest of us is that he is capable of forgetting the issue and treating the person who made the mistakes as now perfect in his eyes.

I agree that to err is human and to forgive is divine.
But I still err and remain as human, although I forgive you for mispelling the word divine.
I think that, in order to become divine, we have to read more sacred verses and put them into practice.

To err, is part of the "human condition"

But the "act" of forgiveness, is the "Devine"

The act, does not come from you, but is the essence of God.

I agree, it seems to me that part of human nature is to carry grudges with us for a very long time. We remember those who've hurt us and for a long time, much as we might try to forgive and forget, we carry those hurts with us, until they no longer seem to matter to us at all.

If you think you have something to forgive it is because you have judged someone as being at fault.

Jesus asked us not to judge, so there should be nothing to forgive.

Nothing is divine. To judge other's actions as errors is human.

To forgive because I'm sure you would like to be forgiven too, as you have forgiven others.
