Our daily activities concern fully on acquiring material possessions, especially gold. Many among us even do evil things to earn them, because of open and hidden encouragement by almost all societies. Why intelligent beings choose to behave this way, while they know that the US billionaire is no greater or more happy than the hermit in Himalaya? How can we conduct a life of moderation?

i find it funny that the word intelligent is used when describing someone who clings to a yellow brick for security lol

seriously now ok .. i think that peoples perceptions greatly differ on what is an intelligent way to live and what isn't
needing material possessions .. needing anything for that matter ( other than necessities ) i feel is not an intelligent way to live
having no needs but appreciating small things is far better than having all things and appreciating nothing

My daily activity is NOT acquiring material possessions. Gold? I don't even where jewelry. I am concentrating in helping my best friend deal with her father's cancer. He is to the point of bed ridden and catatonic and can go at anytime. I have an animal sanctuary and take in abused or abandoned pets or shelter pets. I resent your comment that ALL people are that way. I try to live my life the way my late father would want.

Try taking sparkley things away from magpies and then tell me animals have no attachment to material possessions. Or take away my cat's tennis ball.

I think I'd be pretty happy as a billionare. Possibly more so than now because then I could pay off my credit card bills.

A US billionaire is no happier than a hermit in the Himalayas? According to whom? On whose standards are you basing this assertion?

I beg your pardon, the earth and the animals know full well the possessions they have and give God the glory for it.It is man that is hardly thankful for what God has bestowed on him.If you want to know how to live in moderation take Jesus for an example and learn of him.
