Faux news is by and for airheads, why do you ask?
They don't fool anybody. Bush believers (it's more a religion than politics at this stage) are already fools, otherwise they wouldn't rely on television news, particularly Fox, for information.

No, not really because what they do is tell their audience what they want to hear. Most of that audience comes in "pre-fooled" and want to stay that way.
People who watch Faux News aren't interested in news or fact, they want to hear their own viewpoints validated.
Anyone who disputes this need only look at the studies that looked at where people got their news, and now factually informed they were on the issues. PBS viewers were the most factually informed, Fox viewers were, by far, the least informed.
The Fox News viewers scored very high for believing that Saddam had something to do with 9/11, and that we had found WMDs in Iraq.
Fox News consistently violates, in their news shows, most standards of objective journalism.
Let's be clear, because this is heard a lot - if Iraq is a disaster, and a news organization reports on the facts about that, they're not biased for reporting that people are being killed, there's no security, the level of basic services is almost non-existent in most areas - that's simply the facts. The righties seem to think the problem isn't with events that happen that reflect poorly, it's with the news organizations for actually telling us. This is from the "accountability" crowd.
If the facts, which can be demonstrably shown to be true or false, don't line up with your own viewpoint, it doesn't make them wrong, and finding someone who will parrot what you want to hear, true or false, doesn't make them suddenly a more balanced or reliable news source.
Fox News is a political creature, much like TASS or the official news service in China. You don't go there for the facts.

I asked a (liberal) political scientist what the big stink about Fox News is, and he said, "the left just doesn't want another point of view represented." Since he does hold a doctorate in the subject, I think he's probably a pretty credible source.
Has CBS fooled IT'S audience into not knowing the difference between real news and made-up stories?

I recommend you watch the documentary Outfoxed. It shows that in fact this is true, Fox News viewers generally know less than other new sources.
In one instance they asked viewers whether Saddam Hussein had ties with 9/11 and Al Qaeda. This has been documented to be false. The number of Fox viewers who thought this to be true was so much higher that it is statisically impossible for it to be an anomale.
Fox news is mostly a series of editorials of their journalist's beliefs, which are not factual in nature. However, most people don't realize that and take them to be truth.

The Medes are expert at deception. Fox is particularly overproduced and slick. Fact is fact. Mere coverage has precious little to do with journalism.

FOX has spin just like any of the other major news networks.
Please don't believe there are no politicians with hands in the cookie jar. Politicians have PR that set up campaigns and release stories for journalists to eat up.

I am one of the people that watch Fox news. Fact is exactly what Fox news reports. Opinion is what everyone has, some are true and some are false. Fact is never false.
