i am a hotel clerk and im working right now. it depends on what hotel it is. it depends on what type of house cleaner is working.
for the most part they are clean. they used the same sheets and covers over and over again for a very long time. i would suggest looking at the tent of the sheets and underneath the corners of the bedspread to get a good idea of the cleanlenest. if its dirty go to the front desk and rant on about the disquisting sheets and the filthiness of the room. you would end up getting a free room or good discount and maybe even a suite.

This is so very true. I have been in the rooms as the maid cleans, and I have witnessed this myself. Most of them just change the sheets, I have never seen them change blankets or comforters. Creepy huh? I'm not even sure that they are very thorough in the bathrooms. I saw a show, I think it was on 20/20, where they tested the bacteria found in hotel rooms, well, needless to say, I never wanted to sleep in a hotel room as long as I lived. Now the new item that they are finding in hotel rooms is bed bugs. Horrifying.

I used to clean motel rooms - here's the low down
sheets are changed daily
towels only if messed up
sink daily
vacuum the open spaces daily
dust the T.V. ,table, top of dresser daily
clean tub-shower , toilet daily
mop bathroom floor daily
use a guest towel to dry back of shower curtain off - yes 1 you used to dry off with -not a clean one
blankets, change once a month unless something spilled on it
coffee pot just rinse out
bedspreads clean once every 6 months
so as you can see some are not real clean
And yes I have known some who if they think they can get by with it will just pull the sheets and blankets back up on the bed to make it look like they changed the bedding - when I found them out they got fired as this is so gross

Not as clean as we like. Sure they vacuum.. but usually your socks will be black if you walk around the room. The sheets are changed daily, but the blankets are not. When do you think the upholstery is cleaned? Probably only when a noticeable spill is on it.

Well I went to a hotel in Panama City about a month ago and there was sand in the bed. LMAO...I don't trust hotel rooms. I'd rather go to something private...or a condo at least.

A few months ago I read in the paper that after doing tests on motel mattresses it was found that on average there was sperm from 90 different men, now can you tell me why anyone would consider sleeping in a hotel or motel?

At my last stay at a decent hotel, there was a cigarette in the blankets. If the maid had CHANGED the bedding, and not just made the bed, why was it there? Gross!

i think the dirtiest thing in a hotel room is the remote control so i dont think you have to worry about the sheets or bedding...think of what people touch before changing the channel to another porn movie lol...eww thats really gross

I think so, the best thing to do is bring one of those lights that you shine into the blankets and see any stains that room service leaves behind.
