In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

According to the Bible, Satan is the angel Lucifer, who fell because his pride got so great that he wanted to ascend to God's throne.

He is the prince of the power of the air, the father of lies, that old serpent, the roaring lion walking about seeking whom he may devour, the great tempter, the devil.

He is very powerful and observant. However, he is not all powerful, all knowing, or all mighty. The Bible says that he cannot read our thoughts. God only can do that.

Satan is a great power, and can do much damage. However, the Bible tells us that if we have accepted Jesus Christ as our savior, greater is he that is within us than he that is in the world (Satan).

Signed,
The Old Time Preacher.

Religion made sure that it sold two things to poeple one is fear and the other is greed.
Fear of hell and the greed of heaven. So everyone functions on this, Satan is a fictional charactor to creat fear in minds, if you are still a kid you will believe in Satan....everyone grows old but very few grow up, now you decide what you want to do.

He was an important angel who's ego got to him.He led a failed "Coup" on the throne of God and was cast down to earth with a third of the angels that joined him.He was on earth for eons before God created Adam.He still goes up to heaven and accuses the brethren before Jesus. One day he will try one more "Coup" ,Michael the angel and his troops will kick them out for good. When he hits the earth all hell will break out on earth(The Great Tribulation)Then in 7 yrs,Jesus will come back and he will be cast into the "Abyss" for 1000 yrs. Then he will be released, one more time, try one more "Coup" and be cast into the Lake of Fire permanently.
That's all from the Bible,Old and New Testaments.

I like what the Oahspe Bible says about satan, that is it is "self", or selfishness. Evil is compared to "unripe fruit". Like the Christadelphians, I do not believe in a personal devil, any more than I still believe in Santa Claws. Satan actually simply means - adversary or oposer. Devil means - slanderer or accuser.

That what we call "Satan" is only a name applied to all that is EVIL in the world, not an actual demon that lurks around waiting to do us harm. Evil, on the other hand, can and will do us harm in many ways, but I think we can win against it.

I think satan is real, he comes as something good and desireable to us to tempt us but always shows his true intentions eventually. Fortunately, though some will give their lives to him, Christ wins the war in the end. ALL will bow down to Jesus our God one day!

in the previous testomony, there is in basic terms one point out of A 'devil' in activity. He replaced into God's 'prosecuting lawyer'/angel that attempted to coach God that human beings are susceptible. in the creation tale, a serpent (ie-speaking snake) is the tempter and Lucifer replaced into an surely Babylonian (or Sumerian-?) king that replaced into very effective (and prideful). no longer till the hot testomony is an after-existence and an anti-God character named devil pronounced. Hell relies off Hades yet Hades replaced right into a place the place all of us is going whilst they die....Hell replaced right into a Christian thought that particular human beings could be punished constantly, even whilst they died. Edit 'I make peace and create evil. I, the Lord, do a majority of those issues' Oh, confident. 'Uncle...' is right. the hot testomony says Hell is a lake of fire yet would not pass into element approximately it being something.
