Hey I was wondering how many calories I should try to eat a day. I am 5'6 146 pounds, im fairly muscular and active but I would like to become slimmer. I have recently been tracking my calories and they are about 2400 a day. I have gym and I run every day as well. I dont want to eat too few calories to slow my metabolism down,, Help?

Knock off the 400 & stick 2 the 2,000 calories, the daily requirement 4 a woman.
70 grammes of fat & no more.
Make sure a percentage of that can b in milk, cheese, yoghurt & lots of green vegetables, u must keep up with ur calcium.

2400 calories a day is a lot. You would have to have a pretty active life style to combat that. Normal calorie intake is between 1800 and 2000 daily. A diet is generally considered 1200 a day.

My favorite site to count calories is www.nutrisystem.com

You don't have to buy the member's food to use the diary on line and it will help you keep track of everything you eat. It also has a virtual model that you can make look like any weight.

I'm trying to remember, I read an article in Shape about this earlier tonight. Seems like they said 10 calories for each pound of the ideal weight you want to be. Not sure how accurate that is..

a diet is between 1500 and 2000 calories, depending on your body. dont mind slowing down your metabolism... who cares. plus i dont think it would do anything. keep runnign everyday, or weight lifting like 3 times a week.
