Adults 30+ under 10 years
Adults 25-29 under about 6 years
Adults 20-24 under about 4 or 5 years
Teens 18-19 around 3 years (older, because younger is illegal)
Teens under 17 at most 3 years, maybe 2.
That is just my opinion

If you are still in high school, no more than 2 years. Your life and your thinking changes way too fast at those ages.
With young adults between 18 and 22, maybe 5 -7 years maximum if you want a successful and long lasting relationship.
After 22, the sky can be the limit, depending on the individuals.
And yes, there are RARE exceptions. There are always exceptions to generalizations. (don't want hate mail. lol)

For me, 5 years age gap would be the highest.

Wow... I agree with the person who said if you are under 18.... don't think about it. But check your state laws. Some list 16 as an age of consent.
I think the question you need to ask yourself is... why is the older person interested in "such a younger" person? (Especially if the age difference is great.) Frankly, I'd be a little "freaked" if a 30-year-old found himself/herself emotionally in tune with a 16-year-old. There are boundaries.
Generally speaking, a three-difference probably wouldn't be that great...

age is truly nothing but a number, but when youre talking about the young, the number matters some, like when there are laws involved. but it also depends on the experience of the teens in question. for instance, im 23, and one of my best friends is a guy who is only 18, but i think he is more mature than most 23 year olds i know so.........it all depends on the situation, i dont think this question has only one answer

Because of running time and differences to become mature adult. In my opinion supposed be from 10 up to 20 years. Marriages like that have much more chance to survive .Is your call anyway.

If one is under 18 and the other is over than 18, don't even try it. It breaking the law! The older one can end up in jail because of it.
