The truth can be a good thing or a bad thing, just like a lie. It's all relative to the situation. But the truth is reality, and a lie is what we use to bend a reality into what we need to serve a purpose of some kind. I lie to cover my a.ss. I tell the truth to someone I love, and it feels so good.

The truth is always pure, but a rare occurance, like the planet earth. A lie is always polluted, since it is a distortion of the truth. Lies are as plentiful as the stars in the night sky.

John 8:32 - And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:44 - Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Since God alone is the creator and has ordained all truth, a lie is anything that falsifies any part of or understanding of His creation.
Truth - I am a human
Lie - I am a dog
Note - I am not a bi-tch

A truth is a communicated fact, a piece of information that is verifiable and trustworthy. When tested, it does not change.
A lie is a deliberately communicated piece of misinformation, something that, when tested, is found to be non-factual.
