Surah IX: 29 – “Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Apostle have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth… until they pay the tax in acknowledgement of superiority and they are in a state of subjection.

Does this Surah mean, "Yes", it means any other Religion other than Islam" or "No", It means Atheists only.

Can I have the answer in 21st. Century English. I find any form of English very hard to comprehend? and please be straight forward & not vague please.

Muslim, please understand that an Atheist does not believe in any type of God at all.
Like, "There is no such thing as God"

Bloody hell this is hard!

There are many verses in the Quran that are directed to the Muslims of the days of Muhammad during the struggle to get Islam together and to gain control of Mecca and the Kaba, since pagan Arabs did not accept Muhammad and his Message.

Such a command will apply today where Muslims are oppressed and prevented from worshipping Allah alone by what can be referred to today as the coalition of the willing..

Allah is the Only True God of all the Worlds and and for your question I believe the answer is "Yes" it means any religion other than Islam and "No" it means ahteists only.

>>Does this Surah mean, "Yes", it means any other Religion other than Islam" or "No", It means Atheists only.<<

Surah 2:62 plainly says christians, sabians, and anyone who believes in God "will not grieve"
Surah 2:190 plainly says war is to be defensive only.
surah 2: 256 plainly says there is no compulsion in religion ( meaning you can't force anyone to believe)

So the answer to your question, in plain 21st century english, is... neither. It doesnt mean any other religion than Islam, because anyone who believes in God has a chance at Paradise, and it does not mean atheists only, as there are other religions that believe in other deities than God (Allah).
I hope you understand better now?

Before you try and understand that verse it is important to believe that according to the Surah 19:71 Everyone Sees Hell.

[19:71] Every single one of you must see it; this is an irrevocable decision of your Lord.

I hope this helps you understand.

I'm not Muslim and you probalby won't get a straight answer from them.

I believe Surah might be the person who TRANSLATED the Arabic text.

The Qurans I've seen have several translations and each is slightly different.

I beleive the names are the persons who translated it.

Check me out with other sources, though.

And who do not believe that allah is not the only god with no son or wife.. like Jesus, Ozeir,.... Christians and jews....

But......... That only When anyone of them fights muslims.......or do not allow to spread islam in their country......if they are not attackers and allow islam spread.....then we were ordered to be in peace with them........
