Care is a broad word. Care could mean being interested in the well being of someone. There are a lot of reasons for that. Compassion is a very powerful energy.

Care can also mean being attached to the outcome of something. There are a lot of reasons NOT to do that.

And I am not sure you can be without fear. But you can learn to accept it and let it pass without letting it control you. Accepting fear like this can help eliminate the second kind of care, but it will also empower and liberate the first kind.

For example, if I am not attached to losing my beloved friend, then I am free from the fear of losing him/her, and thus free to be more compassionate towards him/her.

There is fear and there is love.

From these two fountains spring all other emotions and behaviors.

With a very cursory look, it would seem that all the major world views seem to be centered upon love...all except for Christianity, which seems to be centered around fear (fear of sining, fear of dying, fear of hell, fear of the devil, etc.).

A deeper look, and one finds the emptiness in all things and all world views....all except for Biblical Christianity, which brings true life. In it, fear ends. Perfect love casts out all fear...and no fear remains. There is no fear of dying, no fear of hell, no fear of the devil - there is nothing to be afraid of.

There...is peace.

And when you finally taste it, He flows through you with His love...and you care because He cares.

Why?

Because it brings Him glory.

If you didn't have to worry about your parents dying, would you still care about them?

When did fear become a good thing? It is the worst poison known to humankind.
