okay..
this guy i've known since 2nd grade (my little brother's best friend's big brother--i kno, confusing) asked me out yesterday. He said (and this is the important part) "Are you free on Sunday? Because if you are, maybe you can go to the movies with me?" But, of course, being the weirdly-shy girl that I am, i said, "I'm not sure, maybe.", because... well, to be honest, i didnt know why i that. because i've had a crush on his since like, 5th grade. but i DID say that.
and so then, when i got home, and went on my AIM account and asked one of the guy's best friends if he thought i shud go out with him. he said, "i dunno, maybe." and so then, i went offline and went i went back on, the guy's bff IMed me and said, "he didn't ask you out. he just wanted to go to the movies."

and then, now, i'm really confused. because the way he said it, a girl wud think he was asking you out. and yet he says he didn't. maybe he was embarassed to admit to his friends that he got rejected? HELP!

apparantly the guy's best friend told the guy (i kno, very confusing) about me telling him (wow even more confusing) about how he asked me out. and that the guy said he didn't ask me out, he only wanted to go to the movies.
i feel all hurt now. is this the right feeling to have, or am i just being super-paranoid?
i mean, believe or not, i'm in eighth grade, and this was the first time someone asked me out. and i honestly didnt know what to do. i felt quite flattered actually. and then, it's like someone dropped a humongous weight onto my heart and it's dragging across the floor.
helpp...

Yes, he was asking you out. But when you said "I'm not sure", he got the idea/impression that you were not interested in going out. He's trying to save face with his friends now by saying that he didn't ask you out. Yes, your last sentence is correct.

What is the difference? Are you getting married after the movie?

The only thing you know is that you could go to the movies on Sunday, with a another nice person. If you want to go, decide on a movie in advance, be ready to pay for your own movie and food, although if he offers to pay, ask if its OK, and let him.

With guys, 'feelings' are important, but they aren't real. What's important is something you do, like go to the movies. He considers you one of his friends, so he asked you to a movie. Nothing wrong with that. Unless, of course, you really ARE getting married after the movie. I think you are probably too young for that.

maybe he meant that he didnt ask you out to start dating exclusively,he just wanted to "try it out", and after all, thats what dating is isnt? going out with different people till you find that special someone right? dont read too much in to it, either way. just tell him youll go to the movies with him, and go with the flow. in my experiences, (and im 23 and have had a 7 year relationship, and have already buried a husband,) so i know a little bit, guys like it when youre strait up and able to talk to them bluntly instead of beating around the bush. good luck girl!

yeah i just think he felt rejected that's why he told his friend he didn't ask you out! But believe me he was asking you out! Why would he wanna go to the movies with you if he didn't like you in that way! Call him up and say your free on Sunday cause he may not ask you again if he thinks you don't like him!

go with the guy to the movies, then ask him if he considers this a date. Be direct, it's the best way. Don't make assumptions and don't take what the other guy says as truth.

yeah. i think he didn't want 2 admit 2 his friend he was going out with u. or maybe his B.F.F has a crush on u and when he asked the guy u like if he was going out with u he felt bad and said i didn't ask her out.. I think he asked u out.

well, you might as well go to the movies with him, and if he tries to make it like a date, then go with the flow. if he's just friendly then follow that track. there's no way for sure to tell until the actual event happens.
