200000 MILES

Trick question. Depends on when you ask... at perephilion(sp?) and apogee(sp?), or closest and farthest points... and those terms may be for rocket s( I should doublecheck BUT)

You see as the Moon revolves around us it is closest at two points and furthest out at two points in its circle around us(ok probably one of each two points is probably greater or closer BUT you hold the tape measure) One complete trip around the Earth takes the moon approximately.. 1 month ! The Earths year will usually have thirteen complete cycles... sometimes twelve.

Hope that helps visualize but as I didn't doublecheck my terms you want me to look up the distance?

Measurements range from visual means to electronic means today. Accuracy of distance today is correspondly exact- last check laser beams were being used...

Measurements would also vary from point to point... mt to mt valley to mt etc. plus the time of day and month.
