There are different types of kidney stones which are composed of different substances. My father, for example, makes LOTS of calcium oxylate stones. He monitors both his calcium and oxylate intake very closely and his body still produces stones. Conditions within that specific body would determine if, why and what type of stones that body would make. Unfortunately, that is the best answer I can give, since there is not just one type of stone and we are all different. WebMD may offer some more advice, but the best policy is to get your stones analyzed and refer to you doctor's advice about the best way to prevent them.

There are many causes of kidney stones.
One is that people don't drink enough water and they don't flush their kidneys often enough.

I'm not sure. I know you aren't supposed to overdo with calcium supplements because that can result in kidney stones. Go to www.webmd.com or www.mayoclinic.com and see what you can find. Otherwise, ask your doc or the doc's nurse.
