The painting is by Rene Magritte. The style is surrealism. I don't remember the title of the painting but you can find this easily enough by doing a search of his works on-line.

As to when it was painted it looks like an earlier work. But even this is hard to guess because his surrealistic work spanned the 1930s through his death in the 1960s.

Hey, it looks like the artwork of a Filipino artist. Can't remember the name, but some of his works were being exhibited here in Singapore recently. Yup, looks kinda surrealistic to me as well. Era, perhaps late 20th century? like 1990s, or maybe 2000s. Not sure about this though ;p Perhaps I think it's late 1990s, because it looks like the work of the Filipino artist I was talking about!

Well about the interpretation, I believe different person will have different interpretation about the painting, as each of us have our own sets of ideas n belief. What do you think about it? :)

Surrealism: bit the painting dosn't look like any artist I can think of off the top of my head, it's just not Maurgirett-ty enough, the forms are two stylized. Perhpas an early DiChrico?
