First of all, the wisdom in the Bible is unmatched by any other "holy" text. I have mentioned Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Job alot in this forum but they are three of the most relavent books on the problems of human life. The Bibles words touch the heart first then the mind. This is truth.
Then there are the historical and archaeological facts that back up what the Bible says.
"William F. Albright wrote, 'We can already say emphatically that there is no long any basis for dating any book of the New Testament after about A.D. 80, two full generations before the date between 130 and 150 given by the more radical New Testament critics of today.' (Recent discoveries in Bible Lands, 136). Elsewhere Albright said, 'In my opinion, every book of the New Testament was written by a baptised Jew between the forties and eighties of the first century (very probably sometime between about A.D. 50 and 75)' ('Towards a More Conservative View,' 3)."

Finally there are the eye witness testimony.
Would the Bible hold up in a court of law?
"Harvard Law School applies the laws of legal evidence to the New Testament accounts. The first rule of municipal law to which he alludes is a follows:
Every document, apparently ancient, coming from the proper repository or custody, and bearing on its face no evident marks of forgery, the law presumes to be genuine, and devolves on the opposing party the burden of proving it to be otherwise. "(1)
He demonstrates the applicability of this rule to the New Testament documents, and notes that there is no pretense that they were engraved on plates of gold and discovered in a cave, nor that they were brought from heaven by angels, but that they are the plain narratives and writings of the men whose names they respectively bear, made public at the time they were written.
"The Bible is the human history book of God's plan through out history. It is based on 1000's of historical facts and eyewitness testimony thoughout the last 5000 years. "Nelson Glueck (a Jewish Reformed scholar and archaeologist) probably gives us the greatest support for the historicity of the Bible when he states, "To date no archaeological discovery has ever controverted a single, properly understood biblical statement.""(2)

I know the Bible is true! How you ask? Because it is the only book I've ever read and I learned at a very young age that anything put down in print, in an actual book, must be true. Those who question the Bible should stop reading other heathenistic scriptures and stick to the one and only book of God, his perfect word, The Holy Bible!

Well, of course it's true. God created this world. His book,
The Bible, is written to tell us how it all began, how it all
developed (and the land and the people), what will happen,
and how it all ends. No one but the Creator could tell us all
of this and it turn out correct everytime so far. He is the One
that knows for sure. Who else could you go to for facts, and
who else would have all the answers.? Praise God, the Alpha
and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. Amen.

No. The bible, at best, is a collection of parables inteneded to teach lessons, nothing more. It was never intended to be taken literally. Ask yourself this....what kind of god would have fallible men write a error filled book for him in order to spread his divine word? This is suppose to be a omni-potent, all powerful god? Sorry but he seems like a very poor excuse for any kind of god. Maybe that is a clue!!!

YES ! Why ? Because Jesus said in John 14 - 1 : 4 .. Let not your heart be troubled : ye believe in God , believe also in me . In my Father`s house are many mansions : if it were not so , I would have told you . I go to prepare a place for you . And if I go and prepare a place for you , I will come again , and receive you unto myself ; that where I am , there ye may be also . And whither I go ye know , and the way ye know !! ***** There is no other hope*****

Yes absolutely. For me its the prophecies. Hundreds of them fulfilled and they were written hundreds of years prior and in separate books. Some people forget the bible is a collection of 66 separate books compiled together. The way they fit together is incredible. They interconnect like a jigsaw puzzle piecing together the truth. It truly is inspired by God. A bunch of humans over this huge time frame could not have pulled it off. Even in our generation prohecies have been fulfilled about the state of Israel being re-established.

I don't just believe it is true, I KNOW it is. When I apply the verses to my life, when I live by what it says, my life is fuller, richer and follows an easier path ... my load is indeed lighter.
It's only when I don't follow it that I become selfish and self-centered and everything goes to pot lol.
