I don't have dental insurance (I will when I go back to college), and my wisdom tooth in the bottom left hand corner is acting up again. The dentist I used to see always told me that the reason they didn't bother me when I was younger is because they're not coming in like most people's are, so I never got them removed. Now the pain is there, but only in that one tooth. What can I do for relief?

You poor thing. I know exactly what you're going through. The same thing happened to me and I suffered for the longest time until I got a job with good benefits. When I finally got my wisdom teeth pulled, it was the best thing I ever did!
Until you can get them out, take ibuprofen for pain and swelling. Use ora gel or ambisol. They only help a little bit. Or you can use whiskey (I know it sounds crazy, but it does help. Not saying drink it, just rinse or rub it on gums).
It's possible that you have gotten an infection on that one wisdom tooth and that's why that's the only one that's bothering you. You'll need antibiotics for that, and they can't pull it if it's infected anyway.
Needless to say, when they do pull them, make sure they all get pulled out at once so you don't have to deal with this again!

Ibuprofen has always worked best for tooth pain for me, but you don't want to take too much, too often.

How long before you have insurance? A lot of dentists will make payment arrangements with you, if you have a means to pay. Are you working at all? Could your parents or family help you?

Sorry, I know how miserable tooth pain can be.

While you're waiting for the answer you like, take a tea bag, like the flow through kind and cut it in half, roll up one half wet in under water then place it between your cheek and gum next to the tooth.
Give it about 45 minutes and while all the people are saying "get out of here" you'll be the one smiling

well I'm sorry to say, you will need the dentist, if your roots get an infection, it is very bad, the longer you wait the more expensive the damage will be, to relieve pain now, get water as hot as you can take it with salt and let it sooth away the pain, also motrin is best for dental pain, sorry your going through this, tooth pain is the worst.. :(
