My jaw has been kind of popping in and out when i chew gum, or soemthing really chewy. Is that bad and is there anything i can do. I jsut recently got one of my wisdom teeth in, i'm 18, i don't know if age matters or not. But my jaw doesn't hurt, it jsut feels weird. So if anyone has any comments on this, it would be appreciated, Thanks

I've done it all when it comes to TMJ. The first thing any oral surgin or dentis will tell you is to STOP CHEWING GUM! It sounds like you have the begining of a life long problem, it's not something that really goes away, but you can help it. Deffinatly see your family doctor, or an oral surgin.

Don't worry, i experience the same thing as you do.
Basically you can hear your jaw joints moving...kinda creepy, i totally must agree.
But i had an orthodontist check it out before I got braces and she said it's a dislocated jaw. It's nothing that serious, but if an injury was to occur to it, then your jaw would be more vunerable to facing more damage.
Just try to law low on the JawBreakers...even though they're tasty ;-)

You might have TMJ. Talk to your family dentist and/or an orthodontist if you've ever had braces. My sister developed TMJ after getting her upper jaw expanded to accomodate her adult teeth.

Bring it up with your doctor but it doesnt really sound like something to worry about. Be glad you dont have any serious conditions!

The sound is caused by the tendons snapping. It's something you should check with your dentist.

Hi think there's nothing to worry about but have you thought about asking a doctor about it?
