Is it true that MSG was prohibited from use in fast food restraunts because of it's addictive traits? How bad is MSG for your diet and what side effects could it have?

It's an appetite stimulant added to processed food.

The reasoning is that if you get hungry more often, you'll eat even more of the stuff you're already eating, and since you're already eating the stuff they put MSG in, you'll eat more of it and they'll laugh all the way to the bank while you have to carry around a spare tire the rest of your life.

MSG is a preservative found in alot of asian foods. All it does to me is cause bad headaches.

I don't know about that side effect, but it is a flavor enhancer for a lot of Chinese food. It gave me headaches.

People in china have been eating it their whole lives... and they eat more oil than the average american. They seem to be alot skinnier than american.

How do i know this? I travel to China twice a year.
