because one of the main reasons used to justify the existence of israel is the need for a place for jews free of persecution after events such as the holocaust. if the muslim governments can convince people that the holocaust never even happened, they hope it will lead more people to their side
"There is no doubt that the genocide of the Jews was a horrible crime. But what about the rest of the 54 million who also died in the same war?"
6 million jews and 5 million non-jews such as catholics, gypsies, handicapped people, and homosexuals were SPECIFICALLY TARGETED to be exterminated. they were not in the army. they were not fighting in a war. 11 million innocent people were rounded up like cattle with their families, forced to slave and slowly rot away in death camps until the days they are finally gassed or shot to death in a genocidal "final solution" is not the same as the other deaths, most of whom were trained soldiers dying in battle.

i'm no longer a racist, i'm no longer anti-Semite.. i'm a classic loving man or woman. yet i could desire to declare, the extra you learn WW2, Hitler and the concentration camps, the extra you study that it is not any longer something extra desirable than puffed up propaganda used by using the West (i'm from NZ). I m no longer fullyyt bought, yet there are surely 2 aspects to each tale. What fascinates me is.. why is there a particular be conscious for the Jews - being "Holocaust" What with reference to the genocide of the Indian human beings the place 18 million human beings have been centred and slaughtered. This replaced into accomplished to "get rid of the Indian subject." Indian elders and their households have been wiped out so as that they could no longer declare their rightful land. and that i assure, maximum persons don t even comprehend approximately this. It s hidden from us, basically like different Western atrocities. And what's going to we've provided to us...THE HOLOCAUST. Even holocaust museums. I m no longer announcing undesirable issues didn t ensue in the third Reich, although we've exaggerated it immensely. It s the only atrocity the place you're no longer allowed to question it. pass determine. unhappy international we live in.

By knowing that something like that could happen, we prevent it from happening again but by denying it, the group trying to say it never happened, could possibly do some atrocity like that again.
If they deny it, and if the people believe them in masses, they give themselves the opportunity to repeat it with out so much resistance. If the masses know, believe and understand that the atrocities can happen, the masses will not allow them selves to willingly board a train to no where as the Jews did to Aushwitz, the "terminal" station.
If you knew you were going to be exterminated, would you get on the train without a fight? But if you thought such a thing was impossible and had never happened before, and obviously could never happen now, (you must just be paranoid) you might trust you oppressor and do that with no resistance. Oppressors are hoping for that outcome. Spreading a lie makes that possibility more likely.
Convince the people that they are paranoid and they will march to their own death.

This is being misrepresented. No one is saying that Jews were not killed. What they are saying is that a lot of people died in ww2 but we only hear about the Jews.
Say that 4 or 5 million Jews were killed. Over 20 million Russians died as a result of the war. Why don't we ever hear about them?
Where is our museum for the Russians who died?
Even more interestingly why don't we have a native American Holocaust museum for the millions of native Americans who died in the genocide waged on them by the European settlers and the US government?
These are the questions that we should be asking.
Love and blessings Don

Maybe it's a good thing in the end, maybe it will bring attention to the millions of people who died in the concentration camps who weren't Jews. But of course I guess the approximately 800,000 Roma Gypsies that were killed in the concentration camps don't count because they're not Jews. And there were many more groups targeted, but again all we ever hear about is the persecuted Jews, and as long as we only care about half the people who died in the concentration camps I can't really bring myself to care if someones offended by how someone talks about the holocaust.

One way people stay in power over other people is by keeping them dumb. It helps Iran's current government fan flames of anger toward the Jewish people and the governments that are supposedly aligned with them. The net result is that by keeping their people ignorant of what actually transpires on this planet they can focus on any agenda of their choice and never address any real issues that would lead to a better life. You see, they can say things like the U.S. is a Zionist nation with ill intentions to keep everyone angry and then use that anger as blind support and allegiance to whatever their ultimate agenda might be.

I've never figured out why people deny the Holocaust. Holocaust denial is one of the most useless things a person can do, there absolutely no verifiable proof that the Holocaust didn't happen.

I've never heard it. It sounds rather foolish of them to shrug off something that happened a mere 60 years ago based on the assumption that it's a lie. There are still people alive that will tell you it wasn't a lie. There is still video footage of the brutal acts that man should never commit upon himself.

Sorry sister. You pick on some Muslims, you pick on all!
But I'll try to keep it polite...
As far as I know from the interviews of Ahmadinejad with the TIME magazine, when asked about the holocaust, he replied "60 million people died in WW2. They were not human beings? So why make a fuss over 6 million?"
There is no doubt that the genocide of the Jews was a horrible crime. But what about the rest of the 54 million who also died in the same war?

No, such lie could never prosper. The holocaust was so huge that there is no way to deny it, however elaborate the lie, however Mel Gibsonian the illusion may be.
