How about something that holds the memories of the past year, like a special album or something? On the front you could put "Our first year" or something. Or maybe make it a video if you're more into that and put a nice song with it.

If you have photos, put some of them in a small photo album (one hour photo shops like Ritz have great ones.) Put a small phrase below each photo with what you loved about the event, the day etc.
Plan an activity that she likes and that she knows you're not crazy about.

Find a nice picture of the two of you; buy a silver frame and have it engraved with your anniversary date/ pet names you share or something personal/special... put the picture in the frame, wrap it up and she'll melt.

go out for a nice dinner and then maybe a movie. then go to the pace where you had your frist kiss or the the place where you met. give flowers and a meaninful card. do something from your heart.

yah, i agree with a few others, that a necklace would be nice.
or get a couple ring, then engrave the date you started dating on it. its like a couple status thingy.

I made my hubby a "love box" in it I put things that remind me of things we did together. It also helps him when he needs to remember something like our song... the cd case is in the box ... our first date ... i put a restaurant card in the box things like that. I also made him a "fun box" I put coupons in it like free massage ... I'll lick you here for 5 mins ... you get a kiss in the shower ... i will bath you ... fun things like that you can use your imagination for the rest.

maybe you should plan a romantic dinner for her and giv her a dress before u ask her to attend for your dinner. after that dinner bring her to the place you know each other and giv her a necklace. but has a true meaning on it.
