I get a lot of stress related headaches, so usually resting for a little bit helps more than anything.

10 minutes ago? you need 20 to 30 minutes for the pain killer to take effect. Excedrin Migraine is pretty effective. Each tablet has 250mg of acetaminophen, 250mg of aspirin and 65mg of caffeine. You can take 2 tablets. You can also buy cheaper pain killers, like with the name of your favorite store, not brand name, as long as you get acetaminophen and aspirin. Then you can get caffeine, drinking coffee or a coke. If you're still in pain in half an hour, you can take more. Pharmaceutical companies always cover their behind in case you would overdose (ask your doctor and stuff, so he'll be the one liable), but if you're really in pain, you can take 4 without endangering your health. Once, I had a root canal and I was told to take 6...I did not because I did not experience pain, but I could have. If your headache is still there tomorrow or get worse, seek medical help.

This is going to sound really weird but there are pressure points in your hands that can alleviate headache pain. Just put pressure in the form of a pinch on the webbing in between your thumb and fore finger and keep the pressure. You will feel the headache start to go away almost instantly. Another trick I do (when I have time to just lay down and relax, but who has that right?) take some peppermint oil and put a little on your temples and forehead and get a warm compress (an old sock, clean of course, with rice and warmed in the microwave works good) and put on your forehead, lay down and relax. It works for me.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

Relax... don't stress or think about it too much. Take some Ibuprofen and chill, other than that I'm not quite sure what to tell you but Good Luck and I hope you feel better because I'm in the same boat.

You can take paracetamol at the same time as ibuprofen, so take two paracetamol tablets. I find having a nap as soon as I've taken them works wonders. Also have a big glass of water.
