Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (Heb 10:25)
Though perhaps that is more "fellowship" than friendship...

Draw close to God, and God will draw close to you. James 4:8
"You are my friends if you do what I command" John 15:14
The truth is- you are as close to God as you choose to be. Intimate friendship with God is a choice, not an accident. You must intentionally seek it. Do you really want it- more than anything? What is it worth to you? Is it worth giving up other things? Is it worth the effort of developing the habits and skills required?

Verses about Friendship
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have one or more close friends, consider yourself truly blessed. If you don't, ask God to send someone(s) like that into your life, and focus on being a good friend to those around you.
God loves us through our friends, sometimes giving us a taste of His unconditional love for us:
(Prov 17:17 NRSV) A friend loves at all times, and kinsfolk are born to share adversity.
(1 Sam 18:1 NRSV) When David had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was bound to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.
He strengthens us through our friends:
(Eccl 4:9-12 NRSV) Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up the other; but woe to one who is alone and falls and does not have another to help. Again, if two lie together, they keep warm; but how can one keep warm alone? And though one might prevail against another, two will withstand one. A threefold cord is not quickly broken.
True friends are always there -- for the highest highs and the lowest lows -- and feel each other's pains and joys:
(Rom 12:15 NRSV) Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
Real friends are honest, even when it's difficult:
(Prov 27:6 NRSV) Well meant are the wounds a friend inflicts, but profuse are the kisses of an enemy.
If you desire lasting friendships, be a true friend to those you have:
(Prov 18:24 KJV) A man that hath friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

(Proverbs 27:10 KJV) Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.
(John 15:15 KJV) Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
(Philippians 2:3 KJV) Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
(Philippians 2:4 KJV) Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
(2 Timothy 2:22 KJV) Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
