I tried the activa yogurt from Danon. It has special cultures in it to promote regularities. I noticed that my 14 month old was much less constipated.

This is the same thing that happened to my son when i switched him from formula to whole milk. He got so constipated. I used a baby glycerin suppository and it helped him.
I also gave him prune baby food. Do not give your baby banana baby food.
Foods that causes constipation:
You will also have to reduce or, if possible eliminate constipating foods from your child's diet. Solid and low fiber foods may constipate your child. Constipating foods may include:
Cheese
Banana
Cow milk
Yoguart
Cooked carrots
I started watering the milk down when i switch my son but you should really try to wean your baby from their bottle. That is why they cut off formula at 1 year of age is because this is when the baby should be eating solid foods and juices. I switched to 2% milk and that really helped.

Try giving him some prune juice after giving him the milk. Do 2 ounces of juice to 4 ounces of water. It will loosen him up w/o it becoming too runny. When ever he is too running give him mashed bananas and rice the rice cereal might even work. That will firm him up. By the way these things work on adults too just adjust the quantities. Good luck.

If whole milk is constipating your kid then another milk product will likely have the same affect on him. I would go with the suggestion of giving him some fruit juice. The juice should loosen him up and get him working again. You should then watch what milk products and how much you give him to gauge what it does to him.

yogurt and cheese will make constipation worse. increase his fruit/veggie/water intake. cut back on milk. at this age, a toddler doesnt need any more milk than an average person. it should not be a staple in the diet.

You know for the constipation you should put 1 tsp of CARO syrup in his milk, it will help him with the constipation, I had to do that when my son was about one, and it is safe cause his pediatricians is the one that told me to do it, and it worked pretty good.

Yogurt is already partially digested from the acidophilous bacteria used to culture it. People who are lactose intolerant can often eat yogurt for this reason. It should not increase his risk of constipation.
