Good ideas? Bad ideas? In between? What is your opinion of what he and his church believe?

If you don't know who he is, just don't answer.

I would give him a mixed review. A lot of good ideas as far as ractice is concerned. I read "A new Kind of Christian". He had excellent questions, good criticisms of the way a lot of churches work, and he had good criticisms about the way we evangelicals interpret the Bible. On the other hand, I don't adhere to all of his theology. Some would say he is a little too "broad-minded" for me. I would say he is a little too vague in his belief system.
His book was one of the best I've read in a long time. Makes you think.

He represents post-modernist evangelicalism. He particularly rejects the mean-spirited draped-in-the-American-flag theology of the usual right-wing suspects.

He is a bright spot in the evangelical firmament, someone liberals can appreciate.
