You won't die from tasting it, or 'drinking' it, the most that will happen is you getting sick from the taste, but I don't know what each one tastes like (it varies). But, I think some could be scented or flavored. I do not know, go out and check.

It is used in medical procedures involving inserting breathing and feeding tubes, so don't sweat swallowing it, but don't eat a tube of it either.
