They're all correct (the rice was good, too, yum yum) but it's a matter of degree. Avarice is an insatiable urge to grab onto and hoard wealth. In Dicken's "A Christmas Carol", it's what laid the chains on the ghost of Jacob Marley. It's what led Ebenezer Scrooge away from happiness to solitary miserliness. I like the version with Mr. Magoo. And that name, by the way, is a stereotype of the Scotsman as a miser.
