...this is from a couple weeks ago. It's now a reality. Congratulations, we now have an official dictatorship. Sieg Heil.

Judith R: I've heard this too, but I think we were at war before during an election and we still had elections, but who knows?

Aaron: The new law that he signed was to do with AMERICAN CITIZENS, not foreign terrorists. Basically it is this: If Bush don't like you, and so what if you are a US citizen, you get locked away for life (and tortured). Still think it's a good idea??

Don't you understand what this means?? NO MORE DISSENT. No more funny bumper stickers, no more checking out the Anarchist Cookbook or Main Kampf from the library, no more "freedom of religion"--'cause buddy, if someone in the wrong place notices you, you get blacklisted. Then you disappear--FOREVER. No lawyers, no trials, no justice. Nothing, you are an unlawful combatant becasue someone saw you dissenting. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!

Yes it makes me sick, but I think some of your comments are disproportionate ' the law doesn't include all those things. The American Constitution still does exist. And as far as George W. is concerned, all you need are a few congressmen with some guts to initiate an impeachment process. Once it starts .....

This country used to have honor and stand for something. It used to have integrity. It used to at least pretend to abide by the same laws that they helped set up. What is really sickening are the people who think the end justifies the means. These people (torture victims) are not giving up any important information! And in case you have been living under a rock, any information obtained by torture is not accurate and true because someone being tortured will say anything to get the torture to stop. Anyone who thinks that doing that to another human being is a monster. For people like that, I really do wish there were a hell. Because that's where they sent those tortured people.

Bring back integrity and honor!

Trust me, it's easier this way. One persistent problem with this democracy has been elections. All those names, all that anxiety, all those lies to sort through. And campaign signs are ugly. But no one's been able to get rid of them, until now, because people would complain. Now, our leader can throw anyone he wants in jail, and that means martial law is not a problem any more. Worried about those electronic voting machines? Not any more! Let's see what November brings...

Is anyone surprised?
I mean come on, there is NOTHING this brain dead test monkey won't do to make sure that his masters at BIG OIL get every cent they believe they are entitled to.
Is it ANY wonder that immigration requests from US citizens to move to Canada has risen 4000% in the last 2 years?
No, not surprising at all.

I don't agree with it! But the governments of all the major countries have been using torture for hundreds if not thousands of years. It is nothing new. It is because of the media that we now hear about it. But it is a little disturbing!

What's there to whine about on the new bill he passed? If tough interrogation methods produces information that will help protect you and I, then good. You'd rather let thousands of americans die just to protect a terrorist from being dunked under water, or deprived of sleep? Yeah, poor babies. Poor little innocent BLOODTHIRSTY TERRORISTS. How dare we hurt their feelings and deprive them of sleep! This is so torturous!!! Man, I hope some wimpy liberal doesn't end up getting elected to fight the war on terrorism. You can't fight a war on terrorism with water balloons, picket signs, and pink fluffy teddy bears like liberals and democrats want.

While I don't agree with it, I have to point out that law completely prohibits anything that could be considered a crime of war, this includes torture and medial experimentation.

Oh God! It took forever for them to finally send me my passport, and I've not even applied for passports for my children! I hope they give me time to make arrangements before I have to flee. Where can I go? Is Australia any better?

My son thinks that come November 15th he is going to declare war, and refuse to step down, since he can suspend elections until the war is over.
