I dont think that is probably what he meant. Many people feel that freedom is worth dyign for. What is it in the world that tends to restrict people's freedom? Various forms of bad government. Our Founding Fathers were sceptical of large governtments, that invade every aspects of private citizens lives, and they wanted to found a government that wouldnt do that. To me, that is probably what he meant- he feared a bad government coming into power that would impugn his freedom.

I fear the government or "big brother." Sometimes I feel we are just a herd of cows being prodded from one place to another. I should have paid more attention in school. I am ignorant when it comes to politics, but I can tell you I am not happy with what is going on here in the U S of A.
We are supposed to be "the people...." We should be able to do something, stand up, put our feet down.. something!!
A lot of people do not see this, but we are slowly losing our rights; small amounts at a time, just enough so we do not notice. We are either too busy, burying our heads in the sand, or we are being "dummed down." I hope I am making some sense. I have a good understanding, it is just a long way from my head:-)
Anyway, I could go on, but I will stop for now. Thanks for reading!

The reason he is afraid of the gov is because its easier to command a whole group of people if they are strictly disciplined. I prefer to say brainwashed... The military wouldnt work if they werent the goverments bitches cuz you would have people like me question everything and asking why? I am def not a military person but i do know that we need a military. I just dont like to be a follower i guess

A military person probably has more understanding of government than the average civilian. Fear does not always relate to hate.

Soldiers still have minds.
They are still free to think or feel what they like, so long as they carry out their duty; in this they are like every one else.
