I do not, as of this moment, know the answer. However, since there was such a big difference between five cents and 50 cents 1963, obviously the at least two of the first three answers are guesses. Why don't people answer accurately if they're going to answer at all. I thought i would take this opportunity to voice this opinion with the intention of coming up with the answer to your question, and then amending my current answer. However, if i cannot give you the answer, i will retract this one.

In 1955 the cheeseburger cost 19 cents. Also in 1955 the burger cost 15. The price of a plain hamburger was still the same in 1964, so my guess would be that a cheeseburger from McDonald's cost 19 cents in 1963, though i cannot say it with certainty.

It appears that everyone is guessing at the answer.
I can tell you for certain that a McDonald's HAMburger cost 15 cents in 1963. (They cost 15 cents for many years. Then in the late 1960s (1969, I would guess), the price went up to 20 cents.)

So how much did a cheeseburger cost in 1963, if a hamburger cost 15 cents? I would guess 20 cents. 25 cents would be too much, and McDonald's tended price to an exact number of nickels. (For example, when hamburgers were 15 cents, french fries were 10 cents and milkshakes were 20 cents; add it up and you get the famous price for the "All American Meal": 45 cents.)
