So your saying that your ex is in control of your life and has to approve of any guy you might want to date....I'd say you better loose the ex best friend boyfriend coz he sounds like a real pain in the @rse. You have a brain dont you, well use it, make your own decisions. You are nolonger dating him, so he has nothing to do with if you date another guy. that is what happens when you get into that remaining to be friends category. remember the quote "make sure the juice is worth the squeeze!" well remember that cause if you get some boyfriend and piss of your friend/ex and it doesn't work out or something than you have lost a (good friend)
however I think that if he is your good friend than he should want you to be happy and if another boyfriend is what does it then go for it. if he cannot be happy for you than he is not a good friend!

I think it's pretty unfair to the new guy that your Ex is still in your life. You need move on! End the friendship with your Ex.

Regardless if he is your x, then it is none of his business who you go out with.
I would not ask my x if I could go out with a certain individual.
