Welcome to the new Yahoo answers gameshow: 'Which conclusion is more rational!?' In this event contestants will choose from 3 possible choices of answers and put which one they think is more rational. Our group of scientists in the lab, who use a mathematical formula which compares evidence to outcome will come up with a positive conclusion that is more rational than the others and the first person to choose that letter wins the 10 points! So here's the question:
The bible clearly states god made the world and humans in a period of 7 days yet it is proven dinosaurs existed millions of years before humans did...Which conclusion is more rational?
A: God's 'day' is not really a day but god's version of a 'day' which is longer than human days.
B:God placed the dinosaur bones in the ground to fool non-believers and messed with scientist's carbon 14 tests.
C:People who wrote the bible didn't know dinosaurs existed because they hadn't been discovered yet.

It's called a metaphor.
Only fruitcakes try to take it as a literal statement.
The term day has little significance when dealing with the eternal.
So some terminology was necessary to convey the idea of time passing so they chose day.

I guess I'm officially an OLD man now. I'm starting to use terms like "Back in my day" Wait I didn't have just one 24 hour period of time.. What could I have meant by that... Maybe the time of my life where I was young and strong and everything came easy.. So couldn't a whole period of time we do some special task be the day of that work? Why it is that you God haters can't understand this simple idea? It couldn't be that you are dumb, you keep telling me again and again that because I believe in God I am the stupid one.. There must be some other reason you can't grasp such a simple concept. The only thing I can come up with is that you see it as foolish.. But wait Jesus said you would do that and He can't be right... can He? Jim

However, the world was not created in seven days. The bible should not be taken literally, its a guide on how to live your life, nothing more nothing less. Its not a history, geology, or an astronomy book. I am a Christian by the way.

C, because it's the only one that makes sense. A is just an assumption based on no evidence, and B can be ruled out because it makes no sense why God would DELIBERATELY try to deceive us, and then send us to Hell for eternity if we were fooled. (Christians always claim that God really doesn't want us to go to Hell; well, if he was deliberately planting false information to trick us, then that seems to me like, in a way, he does.) It seems infinitely more believable that the people who wrote the Bible just didn't know about dinosaurs, so they weren't included.

There is no proof any thing was around millions of years ago.. Scientist are full of hockey..
They work out a formula they like and go with it... All any one can actually say is....it looks like they were here..or they are here now.. Like I found a penny it was all worn out..like it was three thousand years old..I checked the date..it said 1953. go figure

what does it matter if the bible is correct/incorrect, the only thing you should be taking issue with is people that try to tell others how they should be living their lives
