I only thought there were two Italian mountain ranges myself! I did a quick yahoo search for "montagne in Italia" and one of the responses was for the Dolomites, or I Dolomiti in Italian. I thought they were part of the Alps... they're located in northeastern Italy.

good luck!

hi from italy in italy there are in basic terms 2 important mountain ranges which you wrote: the alps on the north; the Apennini which divide italian peninsula in 2 factors going from north to south; after them there is an different severe mountain it is the Etna Volcano in Sicily (the optimal volcano in europe) and the mountain ranges of sardinia island (yet they are no longer very severe)

the alps are divided into many ranges (alpi cozie, alpi graie, alpi retiche, alpi giulie...) the dolomites are part of them
if not you can add the madonie, in sicily, and keep alps and appennines
