I understand that Linux is Procedural much like Unix, however, does it suppor Inheritance in any way? for example, for application programs written to run on top of it?

Linux is a version of unix. It's an operating system. Inheritance and polymorphism are concepts used in object oriented programming languages which can run on OS like linux.

You mean inheritiance as in permissions from the parent dir right? In that case, yes it does.
