FROM A DAD WHO KNOWS... it depends on where the child support goes right to you/ to the court house first/ or thru the state first. But every state is different in the time but you can ask for a case up date if it goes thru the state other wise you have to go to court and ask for more. It mostly goes by how much he makes so if you know he makes more then before then you should check it out. But I will say 100 bucks a week is about sounds like what I know most people pay. But as a single dad what now has the child I have learn it is hard ... if you need it get

Not getting child support does not mean that you can stop the father from seeing his child. Fathers have rights too. When the courts figure a support payment, they also look at what income the mother puts in to keep the child in the style of living that the child is used too. You should not be too greedy in getting large amounts of support. You should be greatful that he pays what he does. My ex only had to pay $36.00 per week, and he couldn't even do that!! Don't push to hard for more support. If he is there for your child and pays child support, leave him alone.

Bahhh.. I only get $242.00 a month for the last 10 years... and he makes good money as a PRISON GUARD! 1/2 the time he cant pay that amount, or like last month.. bounced the check. Seeing that I live in a another state and his daughter already knows her dad is FOOL... I dont press the issue. Take his butt to court and have his wages garnished. or find a man who lives your daughter like his own and he can adopt her! My husband would love to adopt my daughter, But my ex has this ego/pride thing going on. My daughter calls my husband DAD... her birth father is called "my father". Good luck

I would tell him that child support is not just for toys and clothes. It is also used to put a roof over the child's head, electricity, water, food, etc. So many dead beat dads forget that. He has no right. That is up to the judge. If he bitches, who cares? It is his responsibility too and $400 a month isn't very much at all when you think of it like that. Take him to court and sock it to him.

If he feels he is paying too much, he has the right to go back to court and file for a decrease. He would need to provide proof of a decrease in his income, an increase in his living exspenses or other extenuating circumstances. If, rather than going the legal route to try and change it, he simply decides not to pay the full amount, then you should immediately report it to the court and contact your lawyer. If he has failed to meet any court mandated increases, then again it is up to you to report this to the court and to your lawyer.

Unfortanly he has rights. But he can't decide not to pay without some sort of consequence. Ask him to sign over his rights. Any guy who does not support the child that he made is not a father, dad, or a man. They are a punk.

HaHa for him. this is great. He really has no choice in the matter of child support. do you have a court order? if not I would get one as it sounds like he is going to be trouble and depending on what state you live in, he should be paying for at least 15 yr more. sometimes longer if your state is one that goes to 21 or through college. go to divorcenet.com and read or post this question. they are state specific and very knowledgable on these subjects

Get it taken out of his paychecks through the department of child support services. You just need to give them your court order, and they'll take care of the rest. He HAS to pay child support, and if it's not documented, it's alot easier for him to get away with it. Believe me, I should know. My son is six, and my ex-husband has switched 5 different jobs just so that the child support couldn't be taken out. Sneaky sneaky! He's been doing that since my son was a baby. It never changes unless all of a sudden they go to jail for failure to pay. As far as his rights, he has visitation rights. Child support is viewed as something totally different than visitation. Get everything done legally.

Child support and visitation are not linked. If he stops paying his support do not refuse to allow him visitation, it will simply look bad for you. If the support is court ordered simply go to support enforcement. They will issue a garnishment order. If he feels he is paying too much in support it is his responsibility to seek a change in the court order.

His rights as a parent don't change without a court order. However he might easily find himself without his right to freedom for ignoring a court ordered support payment.
Just so you know almost every man complains about his support payments. It would help if congress made it tax deductible (*like alimony is) to soften the financial blow to the payers.
But why would a republican controlled congress ever do anything for kids that would really help? (See "welfare reform"{cuts} and "no child left behind" {they just pass them all, so as not to be left behind.})
