I'm in the 8th grade and for my science fair project I'm doing the effect of electric shocks on plants. I've done all my research and have a hypothesis. The only problem is I have no idea how I can shock a plant. Can I get some ideas?

What I was planning on doing was having maybe three plants, one with no shocks, one with 2 shocks a day, and the last one with 4 shocks a day. I don't have any money to buy equipment so I'm pretty much stuck to some kind of battery and wires.

Get a 9 volt lantern battery, hook up 2 wires and electrodes (metal pins). Set up a series of plants. Shock them through the soil and/or stem for varying times. I don't have a clue what you will find.

Hi. First, get an adult to supervise. Then put two electrodes in the soil on either side of the stem. Do you want to control the electricity? You will need a thing called a rheostat (voltage controller). Try different voltages but be careful with line voltage(the kind from an outlet) because it can hurt you. Batteries are safer.

Technically ,, isn't it better to use a steep "static decay". I would prefer to "spark" off the plant , where-by the plant is first charged.

If you put amps across the plant ,, likely you will find only the path of "least resistance" , thereby burning the plant.

Amps kills , volts do not.

Take a large battery like those 9 volt ones, add wires to the battery. Put a mettle needle on one end of the wire, and the other needle on the other wire. Stick the needles into the plant, one on top and the second on bottm. please tell me your result of this experiment

Wet the plant and put a wire which have been cut on it.I'm not so sure but it may work..Water is a conductor of electricity.
