A name-title, or perhaps a "nickname" for the Savior, just like Christ, or Master, or Lord, or Father, or the Son of Man, or several other things.

Go forward to Ch 9.
In Isaiah 9:6-7
it says, Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given. And what is the name of this son?
The "Mighty God" in the next verse.
. JESUS CHRIST IS: "THE MIGHTY GOD.
Isaiah vs 6:
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. :)

Yes sir that was the prophesy of Isaiah. It pertained to the house of David. You could consider many things in the Old Testament as Prophesy of the coming of Christ. The tree of life in Genesis. The story of Abraham and Isaac where the lord would provide himself a lamb.

skeptic,
Oh, I see. You don't have a Concordance. You really should get one. It would help you to see that you don't need to ask these kinds of questions. Here, I'll help you:
H6005 `Immanuw'el -- pronounced: im-maw-noo-ale'
from 5973 and 410 with a pronominal suffix inserted; with us (is) God; Immanuel, a type name of Isaiah's son: KJV -- Immanuel.
See Hebrew No. 5973
See Hebrew No. 410
"With us is God" or "God is with us"
Because He was God who was with us. Just like I keep telling people. We Christians are not making it up, agree or disagree with us, that Jesus is God. There's just no other intelligent way to figure it out. It really is plain to see.
Jesus is God according to the bible. Don't ask me, I don't know what everybody's problem is!

Jesus was prophecied throughout the Old testament and New Testament.
The foundation of the church is confessing Yesuah Messiah Adonai (Jesus Christ Lord), the Son of the Living God.
Immanuel means, God with us. Yeshua means, He shall save...

You forget to mention that the prophecy said he'd just be a holy man, a prophet, not god. Yshua ben Ysef claimed to be god. Therefore, he wasn't the messiah.

Jesus never proclaimed himself as the Messiah, that's just folklore. In fact he never said that he was holy at all, those words never came out of his mouth. Although, christians would have you believe so, Jesus never said "I am the son of god". His followers and apostles said it for him.
