Dispite your belief that the United States is a Christian nation, it is not. Look at the cars we drive and the houses we own. Look at how many resources we consume and even that will never be enough. Not long ago humans' largest buildings were dedicated to religion, now they are dedicated to big buisness who regard you as a consumer and nothing more. Any comments?

May as well. It is our de facto religion whether Americans realize it or not. Christianity is very influenced by the Materialism faith; as churches compete to see who can spend more money on building a bigger sanctuary.

I think your idea is insightful and totally correct. You're a very clever person, who has finally seen that this is the way the world is. Good on you.

Although I am an Atheist, I do agree that the United States needs to realise that they are just pawns in the materialism game. Every ad, poster, label, store, box and carton is telling you what to buy, where to buy it, how to buy it. Everything has become a necessity rather than a luxury. Big business makes you feel you NEED a jucer, and all in one peeler-salad spinner- ladle, you NEED a new sweater because your old one is unfashionable...

I'm not saying that materialism isn't an overtly bad thing- getting new things and having the money to spend makes us all rather warm and fuzzy inside- but I think the USA has taken it just one step out of context...

I agree with you to a point. But the U.S. is a diverse country with many religions. All are materialistic. I don't think you can say that all the Christians in this country are materialistic and the other religions are not. You are saying the the politics and consumerism in this country have to do with religion. I see Hindus and Muslims and others come to this country to make money. Period. It is not Christianity, it is the politics of greed.

Haha, America is far from a Christian nation. It's been a materialistic nation ever since the Industrial Revolution.

i'm Canadian and we are/have been a Christian usa purely as plenty because of the fact the States. Why do some human beings have self belief they're the only human beings on earth? I truthfully have met fairly some like that. I do have american friends that I refer to exceptionally plenty daily, so i understand which you ain't all like that, yet we in order that take place to have an exceedingly blessed usa besides as you. rather, i think of ours is in greater advantageous shape than yours. the only undertaking you acquire over us is the flexibility, and you are able to desire to have that, we are a non violent usa :)..That being suggested, there are multiple Christian international locations in Europe, in spite of each and every thing, that's the place all of our ancestors got here from quicker or later in time. that's some approach, 'we do what we want, not one of the others rely', very childishly on your area and might I upload boastful.

I agree with you there. America is so materialistic it is pathetic. I certainly cannot afford some of the stuff others have. Plus, I really would not want some of the junk that they have anyway.

I think the new religion should be fat-assism. I mean....look at us all. There still are people who pay attention to their looks, but we're like the fattest country. It's ridiculous.
