The Bible is composed of two sets of literature. The Old Testament (Judaic literature, Talmud, Pentatuech, Prophets etc. written in Aramaic and Hebrew way before 70 AD) and New Testament (written primarily in Greek after 70 Ad.). Different versions came about as the books were taken to different countries and cultures, and the people wanted to read them in their own language.
The Koran was given to Mohammed to write down in Arabic at a later date than any of the literature above. As Instanbul/Constantinople was the Western capital of Christianity, Mohammed would have been familiar with some of these writings. Although the two Books have a few similarities, there is a lot more that is different. As the Koraan has been taken to differet countries, it also has been translated into local languages. As it is available in English, you can read it for yourself, and then compare it with the bIble.

Yes, the modern day bible is authentic, to the early versions, to the teachings of Christ, and the the truth of God. We have good historical early versions of the bible written recently after the death of Jesus who performed miracles as the Son of God. The bible and the quran are respected, just by different people. Overall I would probably say that there are more Christians than Muslims in the world. They say different things, so people that believe one cannot believe the other. There are different versions of the bible for Catholics and protestants because protestants do not think some of the books Catholics cannonized are inspired by God. We have different translations because you can never translate something perfectly from such a different language and different people try, and because you can sometimes get more out of a verse by reading different versions. The quran does not because Muslims are more unified than christians are and many people have not attempted translation of the Quran: also, we do not have very early versions of the quran, so there is no point in retranslating it all because it is a translation of a copy or translation. No, God would never say two things that contradict each other or he would by lying, and why would God do that?

The Quran popped up on the scene in the 7th century A.D., and was written in only 25 years by just one man. The Bible was written over the span of thousands of years as God gave us the prophets. Christ was the last and final prophet. He perfected God's word, so there was no need for God to send "another" prophet after Christ with an entirely different gosphel. The Quran contradicts the Bible, and calls for the mass genocide of Jews and Christians. The Quran denies the crucifixion of Christ, and calls it a hoax, and it denies the Holy Spirit. The Quran says that Iblis (Satan) was created from "smokeless fire" and is a Djinn, whereas the Bible teaches that Satan is a fallen angel. The prophet of the Quran (Muhammad) had sex with a 9 year old child, as documented in the Quran. None of God's holy prophets in the Bible molested children. Muhammad would be thrown in prison today for this. Muhammad performed NO miracles whatsoever. He spread Islam by the sword and by intimidation. Christ spread Christianity by love. You do the math.

The verses say the same thing because they are copy/ paste from the Bible.
Versions: because the people who translate the Bible want everyone to be able to read with the greatest possible ease.

the supporters of the Quran do not for some reason.

The Injil came first, which was modified by the Romans into Bible. But the most accurate of the Holy Books is the Quran...there is not one thing in it that you can contradict. The major difference between the two I suppose is what religion respectively that they are used for. The major similarity is that they both come from the same God, the Islam God, that is.

The Muslims are intolerant of change or outward thinking. They only allow one Quran, that's why there is only one. The quran like the bible is a series of texts called surahs. There could have been more writings but since Islam spread by the sword it was easily fixed.

Christians waited until the Nicean Council before they first filtered the blasphemous filth out of acclaimed word of God texts, and then again after the Reformation.

za boy,
That's why I don't agree with Muslims trying to play both sides of the street. They claim that they believe in the Torah and the Koran, Jesus, but not that He is God. They simply have to hunt a peck at the Bible in order to attempt to make sense. But to those that are of God, the Muslims fall short, and having not the Spirit of God, they do not know the error even though it's right in front of them. Sad really.

But then they go and try to say that there is only one version of the Koran. This is simply not true. And here is why:

During Mohammad’s life the revelations were not collected into one collection but were scattered, written on palm-leaf stalks, thin white stones bones and the memory of men. In the year 633, after the death of Mohammad, during the reign (Caliphate)[9] of Abu Bakr (A.D. 632-633) the Muslims were involved in the battle of Yamamah[10], where many of the hafiz died on the battlefield. The hafiz, Muslims who knew the words of Muhammad by heart, were an important resource for Muslims, because they kept the Quran. Their death brought concern the Quran could fade away if those who memorized it died. Zaid bin Thabit was Mohammed’s scribe, who was appointed to the task of collecting the scattered Surahs.

So by their own arguements, the Muslims condemn their own religion into abiguity.

God inspired the bible and it really mad Satan mad. So he says, I will distort the bible and add stuff and change it. Then by the time I get though you won't recognize the true religion or way to worship God. Didn't you grandma ever tell you the proverb:
"The best place to hid a leaf is in a forest." Satan knows that you should to. So he distorts, disclaims and changes it until you can't recognize it. But Jesus gave us a way to do it.
Test them by their fruits! Ah Ha! What kind of people would worship the true God? that is the question?
He destroyed a whole world by a flood in Noah's day. Why?
Because he said the earth was full of violence because of them.
So he doesn't like violence!
then they profess to know Abraham, in his day God destroyed Sodom and Gamorrah why? Because of homosexual acts.
Orgys, adultry, pedofiles. They worshiped the penis. So he doesn't like that!
Then when Jesus came to the earth he said the religious leaders were money lovers who robbed from the poor to give to the rich.
We were to take care of the sick, poor and disadvantaged people among us. They were more concerned with their political position than with doing the will of God. They were afraid the Romans would take away their high position. So God doesn't like that.
So now what you have to do is find out what religion doesn't lie, steal, commit gross sexual immorality, exploit the poor., and kill people by way of violence.
