It literally means "to take for granted." That is a word that some religious scholars feel shows a completely opposite view of the Biblical sense and meaning of hope.

Oh, someone will show up saying it's "Metaphorical". Probably jcsaves3 actually, the troll. Anyways, Half of those reasons is enough, this many is just overkill.

Presumtion is basically presuming, which in turn means you have no fact. Or look at it this way. If I assume God is real, its my belief. If I am presuming he will return tomorrow, I have no fact to enforce it.
