ok. me and my friend are really close. She knows i have strong feelings for her, but she just got over a nasty break-up. She keeps telling me that she doesn't know if she is really ready for a relationship just yet, but i've been hearing rumors about her and another guy. I asked her about it and she said that there was nothing, that she didn't even like him. But i had another close friend tell me that she saw them hugging all over each other one day. I don't know which friend to believe, and I don't wanna lose either of them, but one of them isn't worth the trouble if they are gonna lie to me.

I don't comment on rumors except to acknowledge that they exist and that there are more than one of them.
because
I don't associate with rumor believers....
asking her about the rumor was a good thing, she made more comments than I would have...

your other friend is saying what she saw, when you tell us, well, that is hearsay!!!

I agree with ♥Aquarius...
wait and see....
truth wins in the long run.
I believe that you can cause truth to lose in the short run by attempting to force your understanding NOW.

Your friend may know you have strong feelings for her but, hers may not be the same for you. She knows if she's ready for another relation or not so, if she says she isn't then believe her. People start rumors by telling what THEY think is going on and that's not necessarilly truth. If your friend say there's nothing going on with her and the other guy then, you should believe her. If you two are not in an intimate relationship she has no reason to lie to you. Your other close friend may have told you what he saw but the hugging wasn't intended for the way he took it. You shouldn't do anything. The truth will come out. There's a saying: believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see.

I can't tell you who is the liar and who is not, but I can tell you:
Women get over feelings faster them men. A guy may not be able to have a relationship after a bad brake up, but girls are more experienced with their feelings and so can handle them better/faster...

Example: I have two friends who lived together for a year, back in Aug. 2005 she moved out. Three weeks after she was heavy into some other guy - he still can't get involved.

What I am trying to say here is I think she is over the last guy and she is... "Just Not That Into You".

Move on... there will be others.

Oh and go find a friend that can't keep her hands off of you.

This is what some close friend of Geralds did to me too. I hugged other guys yeah but I wasn't their gf. Ask her and then wait. trust me on this one. Which one has lied to you in the past? If neither then maybe they're both telling the truth think about it maybe her other guy friend was comforting her and the other one mis understood. That's what happend with me.

Ask her about the hugging. Just tell her you want to know where you stand so you can move on if she's found someone else.
