About the only thing you get is that you can vote. Other than that, resident aliens get pretty much the same rights, benefits and responibilities (e.g. paying taxes, registering for the draft, etc.)
Some jobs require that you to be a US citizen (few though).
Uh-- Nick, you can't be president unless you were born here.

You have protected boarders (Ha). Infastructure, less devastating, flooding, fires, earthquakes, storms.
You get government retirement social security. Some of the best schools in the world. The best medicine in the world.
