I have a 99 f150, the rear breaks lock whenever it rains, changed the wheelspeed sensor and adj brakes. the axle seals seem to be fine and one tire or the other or both will do it, it still does it, what a PILE! I wish i had my old 1988 f150 with a 302 back, that was a tough truck!

It cost too much to make a good truck, seen this before and tried to fix with no difference.

First of all...to what's her name the Colorado isn't a real truck it's a "wanna be". Second everyone I know who had an F150 from that same time frame had the same problem as you(due toputting disc brakes on the rear) along with numerous other problems. That is why we all drive SUPER-DUTY trucks now and enjoy how much abuse they can handle.I agree with the part about the 88 I had 4x4 with the 302 and a 5 speed, made the mistake of getting rid of it when it only had 250,000 on it.

There is something seriously wrong with proportioning valve in your braking system. Take it to your dealer and have the check the brake line pressures. I believe you will find that the rear brakes are getting to much pressure. This is probably being caused by the anti-skid control modual.

I have an 01 F150 and it's been fine. The 4.2 is a bit low on power, but gets the job done.

We have a 2001 F150 King Ranch. It has been superb with towing, touring, moving, and anything else we throw at it.

We evacuated through Katrina and Rita in it. We use it so much that we have 113,000+ miles on it.

There has never been a serious mechanical problem with it.

You problably have a problem with the ABS, have it checked.
and remember that you are still dealing with a truck that is 7 years old.
You may also have a problem with the pads themselves.

I have an '86 F350 that ROCKS. (6.9 diesel) I have only had to rebuild the brake lines themselves.

Everything is made out of nothing. Cars have to be light to save fuel.
