Ya'll are acting like i'm the worst person in the world for asking. And all of my pentecostal friends have long hair. Ok, the girl ones do. They dont cut it. So is it just the girls who can't cut their hair?

Well, there are many sections of Pentacostalism. Assemblies of God is a form of Pentacostalism, we just aren't as strict. Pentacostal women believe in not cutting their hair because of the scripture passage

1 Corinthians 11:2-16: "I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the teachings, just as I passed them on to you. Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head-it is just as though her head were shaved. If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off, and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head. A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man. For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. For this reason, and because of the angels, the woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head. In the Lord, however, woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God. Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering. If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice- nor do the churches of God."

I believe that most Pentacostal women only trim their hair, but the men wear it short. Besides the women wearing long hair, they also wear skirts knee length and below. Boys can also cut their hair. Most of the Pentacostals I know homeschool. Pentacostals believe in covering their bodies and being conservative. One thing is different, though: Pentacostals and Assemblies of God are VERY outgoing in worship. We clap, Pentacostals dance, we speak in tongues, we sing, we raise our hands, and other stuff. It is a very neat denomination.

you are probably thinking of the men that would present an oath to God like Samson who was a Nazarene and never cut his hair.
Judges 13:5 says :because you will conceive and give birth to a son. No razor may be used on his head, because the boy is to be a Nazirite, set apart to God from birth, and he will begin the deliverance of Israel from the hands of the Philistines."

The ones where I live shave (they're very clean cut)...but they also where cheap suits, bad shoes and the women wear horrible dresses that went out of style -well I'm not sure they were ever in style.

Anyhow, thats how we pick them out around here.

However, they're nice enough. As long as I don't have to discuss politics with them, it's all good.

What? Pentecostals cut their hair. Who told you such a crazy thing? There's nothing in classical pentecostal theology objecting to cutting hair. Your thinking of the Amish or something.

It's all just a matter of personal preference. I have short hair and guys like it. And i prefer a guy with short hair over a guy with long hair because long hair tends to make guys look too girly.
