In the Hebrew scriptures God had them kill wicked nations surrounding them. But When Jesus came to earth the Jewish nation was cast off as his people and he chose people out of all nations and they became brothers.
This world threatens to sink into madness. A prominent religious leader inthe USA declared: "You've got to kill the terrroirists before the killing stops." His solution? "Blow them all away in the name of the Lord." By contrast, the bible says. "If anyone makes the statement: "I love god, and yet is hating his brother he is a liar." 1John 4:20 Jesus even said: "continue to love yur enemies." Matthew 5:44 How many religions can you think of whose members engage in war? But is it the right thing to do?
Does war stop war? Should one whole country suffer because of what a few people do? Isaiah 2:4 I think that in on the UN.
and they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into prunning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation. Neither will they learn war anymore.
Wouldn't it be nice if they called a war and nobody came.

It depends.Probably no.If the soldier does the fighting with a good heart and actually looks at his wounds and scars as a good cause and not just for the country. The soldier must be dtermained to get by the war and if he dies,at least he believed in God.And the thought of dyinh shouldnt freak him/her out cause they know where theyll go(heaven /hell).
Didnt God send Moses to war?Debora,David, they all went to war for their land.Going to war doesnt make the person in a risk of going to hell

NO NO NO he will not! David was a warrior read about his fighting men in the book of Samuel and he was a man, "close to God's own heart. The Psalms a re packed full of verses i think soldiers could relate too! "God is my Shield," He makes my arm strong so that I can bend a bow of iron."

surely, Jesus could have worn what all of us else replaced into donning at that element and era. If He replaced into donning distinctive clothing He could have stood out for that reason. i won't be able to remember everywhere in the Bible describing what he wore. I recommend, what may be the element? The Bible is the know God, no longer a gentle magazine approximately celebrities and what they positioned on.

Actually, the Hebrew word for "Kill" used in the 10 Commandments means to take an innocent life.
Besides that, murder doesn't get someone to Hell, sin does. Any sin you commit can be forgiven through Jesus Christ

David was a soldier; he was highly involved in the army. So were many others, like Joshua, and God used armies to deliver punishment, as well as defend his people. Even Jesus Christ will lead an army in the end days. In Exodus 20:13, "Thou shalt not kill", the word for kill used there is the Hebrew word "râtsach", which, according to Strong's dictionary, means, essentially, to muder, or even to "dash in pieces" along with a few other things. Of course, as Christians, we shouldn't WANT to end another's life, but, in time of just war, that can be done in order to defend ones country. One probably should not, however, embark on war to get revenge or in rage, or just for the sake of killing and war. But I don't think that a Christian who is a soldier in the U.S. army, for example, would go to hell, as long as that one is a valid Christian. As another answerer posted, we are also to be soldiers of Christ Jesus.
This is only, of course, what I know or have been taught. I really haven't done extensive research into the matter, but I think that most of what is here is valid. You can go talk to a pastor or mentor about this too. Regardless, I hope this helps, God bless!
Revelation 19:11-16
11I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

"Thou shalt not kill" is pretty clear on that one. Except that there's plenty of killing in the Old Testament - and with God's help no less! So, apparently, there are exceptions to the rule.

THIS TALKES ABOUT SHOLDIERS AND THE ONE OVER THEM
Luke 7:2 And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die. 7:3 And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant. 7:4 And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this: 7:5 For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue. 7:6 Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof: 7:7 Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
Luke 7:8 For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. Luke 7:9 When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
THE SOLDIERS THAT PIERCED JESUS
REV.1:7 HE COMES WITH THE CLOUDS AND EVERY EVE SHALL SEE HIM, EVEN THEY THAT PIERCED HIM. LUKE 23:34 FATHER FORGIVE THEM FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO [ THE SOLDIERS THAT PIERCED JESUS ];
