Yes. That is one of the ways. It is written to bring the sick before the elders of the church to be prayed for.
Though, when a gift of healing is in operation, it isn't limited to the laying on of hands. Sometimes the Pastor is anointed and will say, "Someone has a lump on their side to please come forward to be prayed for." So person does, and is prayed for and is healed. Sometimes people are raising their hands to heaven and the healing touches their body and they are healed. Though with the laying on of hand is how an anointing is felt through the hand onto the person prayed for.
I know of people that have been healed of cancer because people laid hands on person & prayed for person. One person had a lump on her breast & she was praying to God about it. She felt God's presense strongly in her own living room. God led her to turn on the TV. Benny Hynn was on. He said that to touch the area that needed healing. So she put her own hand on her self. So she did and felt emersed in the presence of the Lord. She vaguely heard, "Your faith has made you whole.". With that the lump disappeared.
Another testimony, where a lady had a crippling disease that progressed too fast. It was painful. God had a divine apointment for her. She went to go see Benny Hynn. At the end she felt God's electricity go around her ankles, around her whole self. Also her eyes (She also had an eye disease.). Benny Hynn asked, "If you feel the electricity of the Lord you need to come forward.". She went to stand in line, but she told God that she could be healed there since the line was long. But someone brought her up front where she received a complete healing. She was so excited that she made a fool of herself up there.
I have no doubt that God heals this way. These testimonies I wrote about, I heard personally from the person who was healed.

Not in the sense that the Pentecostals claim. Hands can ease pain and give comfort and I think can heal at times. A person's belief in such is also a factor and yes, sometimes it can heal, but is not limited to Christian faiths. I am pagan and I heal my body on many occasions.
The laying on of hands healing like in the bible is not possible today. According to scripture the blind saw and the dead were raised by the laying on of hands, this does not happen today.

The bible teaches that a Christian should lay hands on someone and pray for healing, but God decides who will be healed. We are not the one doing the healing, but God uses us to heal. There are many reasons why some do not get healed but we are to continue to pray for others and allow God to do what he wants. We can't stop him anyway.

While there are lots of really gullible people believe in faith healing there has never been one independently confirmed case. Several prominent medical groups have put the challenge out, the religious group in question provides the patient and the healer and all they ask is the ability to verify through diagnoses the actual prescence of disease and healing. No healer has ever taken any of these groups up on this offer, because it doesn't work ever, otherwise they would do it because it would be the biggest ad campaign Jesus ever got. Imagine the New England Journal of Medicine saying faith healing worked.

There is a power of healing. I have seen it personally with friends that I know, healed from cancer, tumors, and back problems. It has been medically documented with before and after x-rays and Cat-scans. Proven FACT
One close friend had stage 3 cancer, had lost all her hair, and was making preparations to DIE within weeks. One night as the man of God prayed for her, she felt the fire of God hit her and instantly, she knew she was healed. The following week, she went to the doctor and it was confirmed. They could not find any cancer whatsoever!!
the one praying must believe that Gods power can heal through him/her, and the one being prayed for must believe that they can be divinely healed.

It is beyond me how someone can give a thumbs down for something I have seen and know. How can sombody rate what I have seen?

I wouldn't rule out the possibility that it might help, in some cases, but for natural rather than supernatural reasons - i.e. we know that there is a correlation between mental state and the state of the rest of the body so we can't rule out the possibility that a particular mental state might have a beneficial effect on the body, through the release of endorphins or something like that.

Paranormal things have happened that way, but in general- no. The prayer of faith can heal the sick, but it may not be physical healing. Sometimes a fractured faith needs healed...a broken heart...a hurting relationship....

My newborn daughter had xrays that showed her kidneys fused and forming a "belt" around her back. More xrays after the laying of hands showed kidneys separated and slanted upward. I have been a Christian ever since.

1 Corinthians 13:8
Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9- For ye know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10-But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
Spiritual gifts have been done away.
