Mac help with installing?

I'm recently got a new mac. I am trying to install new software including Adobe Creatice suite and Microsoft office for mac. But every time I run installer, it doesn't install. The rest of the computer works fine, I just can't install anything form a disc.

Give us more details about what happens. You asy "it doesn't install". But if you know this, is it because it gave you a message? What was the wording of the message?

when you insert the cd or dvd into your drive does the disc appear on the desktop?
