If it was me writing it. I would say...

The long and bloody war was directly caused by one woman known as Helen of Troy, the most beautiful woman in the world.

No the sentence should read: This bloody and long war was directly caused by one woman: Helen the most beautiful woman in the world. I think. Correct me if i'm wrong.
