I don't know of a bird that hunts ONLY by smell. Most birds I know have eyes and ears.

Like others have said, seabirds, vultures and kiwis have good senses of smell. Most other birds do not.

The Turkey Vulture uses it's sense of smell to locate carrion (dead stuff) but doesn't really hunt, and is the only bird of prey to use this sense in this way.

sea birds locate nesting sites and dinner items by following their noses.
