No.

The most famous sweet botrytis affected wines from Sauternes in France are made from Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Furmit in Hungary, Chenin Blanc, Gerwurtztraminer are other varieties.

When speaking with winemakers you'll often find that some of the grapes were affected with Botrytis and used to give extra depth and complexity to a dry wine.

For good producers -- well, any Sauternes or Barsac -- the more you pay generally the better it is.

Any grape can be infected by Boytritis and sweet wines have been made from pretty much any variety you care to name.

I would recommend Australian stickies which are good value for money and come in half bottles, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc are the most common varietals used.

No. Boytritis-infected late harvested wines, always sweet, are made all over the world. Bordeaux's famous Chateau d'Yquem
is the most famous single label and where the Boytritis affect was first discovered hundreds of years ago.

Sauternes do. Unfortunately, I can't recommend one because I don't buy a lot of dessert wine.

If you have a Cost Plus World Market near you, it's worth seeing what they have as their prices are reasonable and they have a big selection.

Santa Rosa wines .com has chateau 'dyochem (spelling) for $220.
